Brothers & Sisters

Student Journey

Our programmes are designed for Huffadh, Qur’an teachers, and imams, with the exception of The Majālis At-Tahqīq and our courses in Tajwīd, which are open to everyone. Brothers and sisters who wish to enrol in other programmes must have memorised the Qur’an

Attending Majālis At-Tahqīq

Sisters coming soon Inshā’Allāh

The Majālis At-Tahqīq form the foundation of our project and were the birthplace of Al-Maqari Al-Qur’aniyyah UK. These halaqāt breathe life into the pursuit of Qur’anic knowledge, as highlighted in the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ:
"No people gather in a house from the houses of Allah, reciting His Book and studying it among themselves, except that peace descends upon them, the mercy of Allah envelops them, the angels surround them, and Allah mentions them to those near Him [the angels]."
For this reason, attending Majālis At-Tahqīq is the first step in everyone’s journey, and participation is highly recommended for those wishing to progress further.
Begin 1-to-1 Lessons
In Person
Students who have memorised the Qur’an will begin 1-1 lessons, during which they will recite to the teachers of Al-Maqari UK and receive tailored feedback. Lessons are structured to ensure gradual improvement.
Online
For students living too far to attend in person (e.g., overseas or outside London), online lessons will be made available. Students are encouraged to make every effort to attend in person whenever possible.
Courses in the Qur'anic Sciences
Students will attend courses on Tajwīd and other Qur’anic sciences, exploring both classical and contemporary texts in this noble field.
Southfields Main Halaqah
Istiqtāb: UK
Students who have participated in online 1-1 lessons due to living abroad or at a significant distance will take part in a 4–6-week intensive course. This programme provides the opportunity to study in person with their 1-1 teachers. These sessions will include Iqrā’, specialised courses, and various other lectures.
Istiqtāb: Madīnah
Upon meeting the required milestones and passing the relevant assessments, students will have the opportunity to travel to Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah to study under the scholars of Qur’an there. They will recite to the mashāyikh, attend their halaqāt in the Prophet’s Mosque ﷺ, and benefit from lectures delivered by various mashāyikh in Masjid An-Nabawi.
Upon Return
This ‘ilm is an amānah (trust). It is the responsibility of those who seek and gain it to share it with their families and communities. They must strive to lift ignorance from themselves first, and then
from the ummah as a whole. This knowledge is a means of drawing closer to Allah and saving ourselves from the Fire, while also warning and guiding others towards salvation.

Beyond

Seeking knowledge is not a one-time endeavour. Participants in these trips will realise that this is only the beginning, as the pursuit of knowledge does not end until we meet Allah SWT. To facilitate this, continuous return visits will be organised for those interested, sustaining the ongoing cycle of seeking and spreading beneficial knowledge.
